Customer Marketing Group Announces New Principal


Experienced Sales and Marketing Executive John Koury Partners with CMG in Bay Area


The Woodlands, Texas (August 1, 2014) - Customer Marketing Group, Inc. (CMG) announced today that John Koury has joined the organization as Principal.


“We are pleased to have John join the CMG team,” said Stew Bishop, President and CEO of CMG. “He is an expert problem solver in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, particularly around creating real change in the marketplace with retailers. The bottom line is that John gets a lot of stuff done and this is what CMG is known for and what we strive to be all about.” Bishop continued, “Our partnership with John reflects CMG’s continued growth and commitment to delivering meaningful answers to our clients’ most difficult questions.”


With more than 30 years of CPG experience, John has a proven track record of developing high-level strategic plans that translate into successful tactical customer trade execution and delivering top and bottom line financial results. As Principal, John will manage client relationships and provide critical advisory to assist clients in effectively executing against their stated objectives. He will be based in the Bay Area.

I am very excited to be joining the CMG team as they expand in the Bay Area and contribute to this exciting new chapter in the firm’s development,” said John Koury.


John began his career in CPG working in grocery stores and warehouses while attending college. Upon graduating from the University of Texas with a BBA in Marketing, he joined Fleming Foods as a Grocery Merchandising Manager in Houston. John then moved to the Quaker Oats Company, where for 18 years he gained valuable cross-functional experience across sales, customer marketing, and trade marketing. He has held several senior-level sales and marketing positions including Vice President Sales at PepsiCo, Vice President National Customer Marketing at Del Monte (Consumer Products Division), and most recently Vice President Sales and Marketing at Sun Foods.
